Local Area
The flat is around 8 minutes' walk from Camberwell Green, a vibrant area filled with too many pubs and restaurants to name here (but we'll try!) If you fancy a drink, The Tiger and The Old Dispensary are right on the green, or you can sample craft beers at Stormbird; or peruse the wines at Veraison Wines, both within ten minutes of the house. For dining, all tastes are catered for, whether you want to grab a quick bite from Falafel and Shawarma, Turkish BBQ at FM Mangal, Xinjiang cuisine from Silk Road, or Sourdough Pizza from Theo's. If you want to go up-market, head to Camberwell Arms, or Kerfield Arms (which has a Michelin star!) Regular events are held at the Dash the Henge (an independent record store), and The Old Dispensary, including live music, DJs and Karaoke.
The green itself hosts a range of activities including a weekly farmers market, and the annual Camberwell Arts Festival.
For the day-to-day essentials, a Sainsbury's Local and Iceland are within two minutes' walk, and Camberwell has a Co-Op, Tesco, Lidl, and a large Morrison's, as well as a handful of independent grocery shops.
Burgess Park and Walworth also have a lot to offer, with a bonanza of different shops running the mile to Elephant and Castle. Within easy access is the Orbit Brewery Taproom, and - just across the park - Fowlds, a really lovely little coffee shop. Also on your doorstep is one of the last remaining traditional pie and mash shops in London, Arments Pie and Mash.
