Wander leisurely around the gem town of Cockermouth (established in 1220). It's very relaxing to be able to walk everywhere in town. The home has a good vibe and the house mates will make you welcome.
It's in a unique, quiet, downtown location by the river. A one min walk takes you to the Main Street. Here you will find many good cafes serving speciality coffees, gyms, pubs and many great restaurants. ‘The Spice Club' is close by for an excellent curry or Little Basil for Thai takeaway.
A 4 minute walk will take you to all these places- The Castle Bar, a camra award winning pub built in the 16th Century, the Kirkgate theatre which hosts live music events, festivals and films, the medical centre, gyms, the Leisure Centre, swimming pool, climbing wall, CrossFit, yoga, Pilates etc., Sainsbury's, Lidl, bike shop, hairdressers, barbers, cafes, restaurants and speciality shops. Cockermouth is known as a “Gem town" because it's such a gem of a place to live.
