<p>There are a number of reputable schools within the area surrounding Watchman's Place, in addition to an acclaimed university. </p> <p>For families with younger children, English Martyrs Catholic Primary School and St Michael's Primary School are both located on Dee Road, within a 10-minute walk of the development. Ranikhet Academy, which provides nursery, pre-school and primary level education, is half a mile away. </p> <p>King's Academy Prospect secondary school and sixth form is just over a mile from Watchman's Place. About 15 minutes' drive away, Reading College offers a broad choice of further and higher education courses, plus apprenticeships. </p> <p>The University of Reading has several campuses within driving distance of the development, including Whiteknights Campus, approximately 15 minutes away by car. </p>

Junction 12 of the M4 is about a 10-minute drive away, providing a link to the South East and South West; Wokingham, Bracknell and Newbury are all under 20 miles away via the M4, while central London can be reached in about an hour and a half. </p> <p>Reading West railway station is conveniently situated under two miles from the development, with direct services to destinations including Oxford and London Paddington, each taking 25 minutes or less, as well as Southampton Central and Bristol Temple Meads. </p> <p>Green Park, Reading's large business complex that is home to several major national and international employers, is just 25 minutes' drive from Watchman's Place.</p> <p>The nearest airport to the development is Heathrow, about 45 minutes away by car. </p>

<p>Reading town centre is situated just a couple of miles away from Watchman's Place, placing its leisure and entertainment attractions within easy reach for residents. A cinema is located at The Oracle shopping centre, while an upscale bowling alley and crazy golf venue can be found inside the nearby Broad Street Mall. </p> <p>The nightlife in Reading is focused around Friar Street and Gun Street, and offers entertainment for every taste - from relaxed cocktail bars and pubs, to legendary music venues and nightclubs. The Hexagon, an iconic Brutalist building, is Reading's cultural hub that hosts a wide variety of live entertainment throughout the week. Additionally, the annual Reading Festival takes place every August at a location just 10 minutes' drive away from Watchman's Place. </p> <p>Closer to home, Prospect Park is Reading's largest open green space and offers a variety of sports facilities, a miniature steam train, and an exceptionally well-equipped children's play area, in addition to a restaurant situated within a grade II listed mansion. </p>

<p>With its reputation as one of the UK's top shopping destinations, central Reading has plenty to offer, particularly within The Oracle complex that incorporates over 80 stores. Located alongside the River Kennet, The Oracle also boasts an impressive selection of restaurants and bars, many of which overlook the water. Reading town centre is about 10 minutes' drive away from Watchman's Place. </p> <p>Broad Street and Friar Street are home to yet more well-known stores and eateries, while the Harris Arcade is a 1930s Art Deco shopping centre occupied by many independent retailers. Also celebrating local businesses is Blue Collar Corner, a unique venue with a rotating selection of street food stalls, alongside a bar and regular DJ sets that continue into the night.</p> <p>Closer to home, a large supermarket is situated less than a mile from Watchman's Place. Calcot Retail Centre, which is home to Reading's branch of IKEA among many other major stores, is around 15 minutes from the development by car. </p>
