A Beautifully Extended Four Bedroom Detached Home With Detached Playroom And Over 100ft Rear Garden

The sellers view...

A home we fell in love with
After spending ten years living in London, we decided three years ago to move out in search of a family home that offered more space, a generous garden, and a stronger connection to the countryside, while still maintaining easy access to London for work and leisure.

We immediately fell in love with this charming cottage-style home, which beautifully combines character and traditional appeal with a more modern interior. One of the biggest attractions was the versatility of the living space. Over the years, the rooms have adapted to our family's changing needs, serving as a gym, home office, playroom, additional lounge space, and storage area, while still providing separate dining and living rooms.

The rear extension has become the heart of the home. Opening onto a beautiful patio and garden, it is a wonderful space for everyday family life as well as entertaining guests. Whether hosting friends or enjoying family meals, this area has served us incredibly well.

The location offers the perfect balance between town and countryside living. We have loved having beautiful walks, parks, and open green spaces right on our doorstep, while also being just a short drive from picturesque towns such as Marlow, Cookham, and Henley-on-Thames.

For families, the area is exceptionally well served by both highly regarded state and independent schools, with junior and senior options within walking distance, as well as access to sought-after grammar schools.

Transport connections have been another major advantage. Easy access to the Elizabeth Line and Great Western Railway has kept us well connected to London. Maidenhead town centre and station are approximately a 20 minute walk away, while Furze Platt station provides another convenient option. The M40 and M4 motorways are also easily accessible.

Everyday convenience is right on hand, with a Tesco Express just a two-minute walk away, ideal for last-minute essentials, while a pharmacy and post office are also nearby.

Improvements we've made
The property had already benefited from a renovation and rear extension when we purchased it, including a modern Howdens kitchen with integrated appliances.

The most significant improvement we made was converting the old garage and workshop at the end of the driveway into an impressive garden room, while retaining a secure storage area. We also extended the patio to create a seamless flow between the house, garden and garden room, making it ideal for entertaining and outdoor living.
As our children grew older, it became the perfect place for them to relax and spend time with friends. The garden room provides further exceptionally versatile additional living space and could serve as a studio, hobby room, home office, gym, entertainment room, or a peaceful retreat away from the main house.

There is also potential to convert the loft (subject to the necessary planning permissions), although we ultimately found the existing accommodation, together with the garden room, provided all the space we needed.
The garden is wonderfully peaceful and private, backing onto school playing fields and bordered by friendly neighbours on both sides.

Why we're Moving
We are incredibly sad to be leaving both this wonderful home and the local area. When we purchased the property, we fully expected it to be our home for many years to come. However, life circumstances have changed, and we have made the decision to move back to Yorkshire to be closer to family.

The property is being offered chain-free.
